Perspectives in Motion: Wailing and nashing of teeth
This is the latest attack on others from DL Foster. (click link above)
One must ask the question what good comes from a man of god calling others names like pervert, idiot or witch…. It seems like he has lashed out at others because he feels they have lashed out at him. Again I ask, what good comes from this post? What good comes from lashing out at others rather than bringing them the truth in love relentlessly.
Even Jesus Christ preached non-violence when he said. "Love your enemies, do good to those who treat you badly. To anyone who slaps you on one cheek, present the other cheek as well." (Luke 6:27)
It would do the world great justice if we all learned this. Instead we lash out at each other, rather than reaching out for understanding. Even though I am not a christian, I believe the teachings are worth the lesson.

well a lot of good comes from it.
Whats to understand when you dont rebuke the homosexuals who say evil things about Christians, but you seem highly upset when the shoe is on the other foot.
Also, why do you quote the Bible on love, but eschew its clear teachings against homosexuality?
You do not beleive in Jesus nor serve him, but want to use his words to justify your position?
If you are not a Christian, what qualifies you to tell a Christian how the Bible should be applied? Again, your gratutitous hypocrisy is showing.
The lesson you should learn first is that God hates sexual immorality. Homosexual immorality is not exempt.

I wasn’t going to comment on this but I’ve got a few extra minutes, and I know DL is looking for feedback, so here goes.
I have read only a couple of DL’s posts, but that’s all one needs to reach the conclusion that he is a very angry, bitter man.
Perhaps there are underlying circumstances that would explain his attitude, however it is very sad indeed that he uses the auspices of Christianity to justify his behavior.
Not only does he flaunt his anger and bitterness to all who disagree with him, but he seems to derive ecstatic pleasure from the fine (or I should say not so fine) art of instigation.
I hope he will soon realize that his present method and attitude are of no benefit to anyone, least of all himself.
Oh, by the way DL, here is a little spelling tip: “Gnashing”, you forgot the “G” twice in your post.

I posted this comment at his site:

DL Says:well a lot of good comes from it.
Joe replies: No, I don’t thing so, there are better ways to respond those who disagree with you. That is in the teachings of ever y great person known, Jesus, MLK, Gandhi, and so on…Do you not strive to be a better person?
DL says: Whats to understand when you don’t rebuke the homosexuals who say evil things about Christians, but you seem highly upset when the shoe is on the other foot.
Joe Replies: I think this is a twist of words and clever cliche. The shoe isn’t on the other foot for me, maybe it is for you, but not me.
DL says: Also, why do you quote the Bible on love, but eschew its clear teachings against homosexuality?
Joe replies: Oh that one is easy, I take the lessons from the bible that fit my life. I am not a christian, nor have I ever claimed to be. I do admire and learn from all teachings. I am a student of life.
DL says: You do not beleive in Jesus nor serve him, but want to use his words to justify your position?
Joe replies: Sorry, DL another twist of words. I am not using his words to justify anything. I am using his teachings to make a point. I may not be a christian, but I can still learn from Christ. So can you!
DL says: If you are not a Christian, what qualifies you to tell a Christian how the Bible should be applied?
Joe replies: I am not telling you how to apply the bible, and I am asking you to think about your actions in light of the teachings of a great man. I could have quoted anyone, but I thought Jesus said it in a way you would accept. Next time I will quote someone else if that will make you think for one nano-second about the damage you may do to others.
DL says: Again, your gratutitous hypocrisy is showing.
Joe replies: Where? Nothing hypocritical about me. I stand with the truth. The truth has amazing ways of showing its face, even when you don’t want to hear it! If you think I am being a hypocrite, I am sorry to hear that, but it is not the truth.
DL says: The lesson you should learn first is that God hates sexual immorality. Homosexual immorality is not exempt.
Joe replies: God doesn’t hate, simple and plain as that. God doesn’t hate. Maybe your god does, but mine does not. I have studied the bible my whole life. I have found no hate in the book. If you have, it is possible you are reading it with the wrong light!
Joe also adds: DL, You are so determined that I am your enemy, I am not. We are all children of the creator. I am not creating this dialog with you for the hell of it. I truly believe we both have something to teach each other. No need to be hostile. I am not here to insult you. I want to bring you the truth as I see it so you will stop hurting people. I also see that you want to spread your truths. I can respect that, but I will not respect you hurting others in the process.

Remember saying this?

to shep:
A suggestive solution: ignore what I say and do and go back to doing what you were doing before you became aware of me. Like the television, if you dont like it simply change the channel. Does that seem like a workable solution for your problem? Hope so.
And as I have sed miny tymes b4, peeple who point out spelling errors online are trite, petty and self contrived. Find a better occupation if you want to impress someone.

Could ask the same of you DL, why are you paying attention to what we say. It obviously upsets you.” Like the television, if you dont like it simply change the channel”. That’s good advice, why don’t you apply that to yourself and stop trashing gays (ie yourself).

DL,
I see no point behind what you are saying in your last comment. Of course I remember saying it, and I stand behind it. I would love to take all of the ex-gay ministers, sit them down and explain just how much damage they really do to others. I would love for them to see they hurt more than they help. That includes you. Did you somehow take it to means something else? I am sorry if you did, because that is what it means.
January 23rd, 2006 at 9:33 am
Steve, your post appears to be free of prejudicial invective so common on the XGW postings about exgays, so I dont have a problem with your post. The “wailing and nashing” was in response to the commenters.
And I keep getting this kind of “get to know me” stuff. But only after something deragatory has been written about me. Seems to me if you really wanted to get to know a person or to have “dialogue” with them, you would contact them for that purpose, rather than posting something negative and then attempting make it seem like the person you wrote about doesn’t want to get to know you. Just something to think about. Im sure my email is on the blog.
IF you want to get to know me, I’ll grant you the first exclusive, ask anything interview into DL Foster’s life and work.

I never said I was going to ignore exgaywatch or any other unabashed exgay basher. Youre getting things confused. Quite the contrary, I have stated several times, that I will be watching what they say. You know, watching the so called watchers.

Are you guys live? Can I join in?
January 23rd, 2006 at 9:55 am
DL, did I read somewhere that you were an ex-gay?
January 23rd, 2006 at 10:05 am
Julian, we are not live, but you are welcome to the discussion.

to DL:
I’ve had & have no intention of devoting all my time to “tit for tat” foolishness with you. Your own words do a superb job of showing the world your “hate-monger” personality. You don’t need me to assist you.
I must admit that my “spelling tip” to you was expressed with a bit of sarcasm, (I figured you would respond in the fashion that you did) however, it would seem to me that an “intelligent” person such as yourself would not want to show the world that you couldn’t spell a simple word like “nashing” oops I mean gnashing.
As petty as that may have been on my part, it was tame in comparison to the vicious hateful things that you spew out in the name of Christianity.
Well DL, I hate to cut this short, but you know me, I have to go “watch television”.

uhhh, that’s what youre doing right now, so that’s one lie.
“, it would seem to me that an “intelligent” person such as yourself would not want to show the world that you couldn’t spell a simple word like “nashing” oops I mean gnashing.”
++++
So far only one person in the world (that’s billions of people mind you) seem to get in a knot over nashing, not oops gnashing. Guess who that one person might be? As I said trite and petty.
Im glad you cut it short, youre making a bigger fool out of your self with each post. :)
