I have been busy with the day job, not that it is a bad thing I love my day job! and my co-workers have been very supportive of this blog…..but I have not been posting as much as I would like, so here is the round up of stuff I have been reading that I thought is noteworthy of mention or falls to the damn I wish I wrote that catagory:
Kevin (yes our own Kkaatz) writes on the California marriage polls that show marriage is being supported by younger crowds….read more…
Jim Burroway writes some amazing stuff. Totally fits with the nonviolence theme of this blog as Jim really sticks to the issues and never says anything mean about the right. I applaud him for that…..
Jim writes:
A great piece on the Ann Coultier “faggot” slang…..does a better job at writing then I could…
Jim also reposts some great stuff on The Origins of Heterosexuality
Pam’s House Blend is reporting on the right wing attempts to claim there is some Gang ‘o lesbians forcing young girls into gay sex. The idea is pretty stupid when you read it from the view of the facts.
Americans for Truth which is becoming a great gay news source since they just repost what they think is damning to gays and lesbians and is often just boring news writes about a bunch of California teens who learn about civil issues but living them out in the classroom in lock form. Great teaching tool. What he left out is the kids picked th issue not the teachers.
Holy Bullies and Headless monsters (AKA Alvin McEwan) has given an entire post to how Peter La Baberba and others are just repeating history.
Last but not least Peterson Toscano writes about just how diverse out stories can be….

I read with interest that story about lesbian gangs and it just BEGS for further investigation as to it’s veracity.
It’s fair to be suspicious of such an article. I’d like to know the origin of it and who is spreading it as factual.
Did the source come from actual law enforcement records? Or were they false police reports?
When a false report made by a gay person having been gay bashed, it’s published in LGBT media and the perpetrator is left to deal with the consequences of filing such a claim to the police.
But the OPPOSITE occuring, is at an extremely high rate.
Straights who accuse gays and lesbians (especially youth who just want to form a school GSA) of something suspect, isn’t new to us.
Straight people making accusations of a sexual pass, or assualt do not engage the police to investigate and record it, but takes it on themselves to assault or murder a gay person and then uses the gay panic defense after the fact.
For the most part, homophobic straight folks are unconcerned or widely open about how suspicious they are of ANY gay people…but for the most serious of crimes against gay people, they won’t take responsibility.
Somehow they weren’t there, or didn’t do it, and don’t know anyone directly who would.
See, gay people are oh so useful this way.
I’ve heard the ‘gang of lesbians’ rumor mongering before, from the invasion of school bathrooms, to sex recruitment clubs on campus (GSA’s).
This last thing sounds like an amp up, because previous charges against young lesbians haven’t been able to stick with reasonable people.
