The Right View With Stacy Harp and Guy Adams-Part 1

by @ 1:49 pm. Filed under Gay News

Please repost this on your blogs and websites. We need to expose this type of stuff to the sunlight of justice.

Stacy Harp’s internet radio program called the Right View had Renew Amercia’s own Guy Adams on as a guest. I found some reassurance in listening to this show that no one with a drop of common sense is going to listen to a word this man says. He puts himself right there with Fred Phelps in just the first few minutes of the show.

Mr. Adams made some outlandish claims, thankfully, so illogical and crazy that nobody is going to take this man’s claims with anything but a sense of humor. Sadly, he believes the things he says as hateful and wrong as they are.

Some of his outlandish claims from part one of the show include:

WOW!

Lucky for us, no one has to work all that hard to show this man is not telling the truth. At least if you are going to make some claims about gays, make them sort of believable!

I will update you on the next part as soon as Ms. Harp posts it. Reminder though, it is Ms. Harp who is giving this man a venue for his lies. Doesn’t make her look credible either.

Update: Right after I wrote this post, I was thinking about these type of claims (gays have sex with animals and infants..etc…All I could say is where is people’s sense of reality. These types of claims belong on the cover a the Star next to the ones that say aliens are running the Lottery. These claims are so outlandish, I wonder to myself who could possible believe such utter crazyness. Sadly, I am not dumb enough to ignore the fact some people really fo believe this stuff. Guy Adams himself, believes the stuff he is saying. Don’t these people ever stop to think about it. Even the most anti-gay person should be saying to themself, wow this is out there.

Think about some of the outlandish claims made about groups of people over the course of history and then think about the claims that Guy Adams is making. This crap belongs on the Jerry Springer show where people can laugh about it, not make laws on it. I wish people would stop this horrible rhetoric. It is just so wrong.

O.k.–after hearing that, I take back my statement from the other day that last week Guy Adams sounded reasonable. After reading what you have posted above, I see that it was all a lie.
So gays have made no contribution? Well, the one example (out of many) I can give Guy is that his country exists because of the actions of people like Friedrich von Steuben, a German soldier who fought for an independent United States. He was gay and President George Washington paid him the honor of sending Steuben his last letter before he became a private citizen thanking him for his ‘zeal, attention and abilities in performing the duties of your office…’ (Male-Male Intimacy in Early America, pp. 93-94, by W. Benemann). Adams and Harp wouldn’t be able to spout their hate without the gay von Steuben fighting for their independence.
Guy is a dangerous man, and I think you were right the first time to not allow him a voice here. He lies through his teeth when he pretends to want to understand what is going on outside of his fundamentalist view.
Of course, it might be good to broadcast his viewpoint so that other people can see exactly what kind of person he really is and what he stands for.

I would ask people, if you have a blog or a website, repost this article. I think people need to hear about this stuff. I believe we need to expose it.

No need to give me the credit. Call it your own, just get the word out to others.

Lets put this type of rhetoric where it belongs…..

Hi, Joe. I confronted Stacy about the truthfulness of Guy’s claims. She thanked me for listening and told me to be on the watch for part 2.

I’ve sent an email to Guy to ask where he got the info. Let’s see what he says.

I don’t know… this claim is so vile and outrageous… it’s not something we should just chalk up to run of the mill bigotry. I really think this goes way beyond that. Something needs to be done.

  4. BrettK Says:

Joe, does WordPress have any kind of hate speech policy?

  5. Joe Brummer Says:

I am not sure about that. I use wordpress, but on my own server. I do’t know about their policies on their server. Stacy is own blogger and the have a flag button on the top right corner. If enough people flag a site, they will look at the site for hate speech.

  6. nlsngrc Says:

I filed a complaint with GLAAD. “Flagging” is a waste of time; in the past, people have complained to blogger about being threatened, harassed, or defamed/slandered and all Google would say is to work it out with the party in question.

  7. BrettK Says:

I called GLAAD, too. This morning I emailed Wayne Besen & he’s done a press release:

    Re: the third bullet:

Gay relationships only last about a year and 1/2 (and that came from what study?…)

I know exactly which study it came from. I have the details here:

Straight From The Source: What the “Dutch Study” Really Says About Gay Couples

  9. Joe Brummer Says:

Awesome! Thanks for posting that. The bullet above links to articles and studies that refute those silly claims and my 7 years with my partner help refute it too!

  10. Pink Pitbull Says:

I just have to get in the middle of this one particularly because a while back, I had an email exchange with Mr. Adams (which I saved for anyone interested in looking it over).
Half the time, Mr. Adams clearly did not and still does not know what he talking about. He pretty much relies on bad data and when it is shown to him how his data is incorrect, he blows you off.

Also, Joe, are you aware that he wrote a column about you on his page. It’s full of lies no doubt of course.

  11. Joe Brummer Says:

Yes, I saw that. I also have an email exchange I am considering posting for all to read.

I found it entertaining he thinks me and my dad don’t get along….I got news for him. My dad is now, and has always been an important part of my life. Boy scouts, little league, swim team, camping…my dad was there. I am not gay due to an absent dad thing….

  12. kkaatz Says:

Yesterday I sent your post over to Pam’s House Blend and asked her to post it since she gets quite a few people at her blog. Today she has posted the stuff on Guy Adams http://www.pamspaulding.com/weblog/2006/08/over-edge-batsht-crazy.html

  13. Joe Brummer Says:

    Thanks!

I do really think it is important people see this one. It is up there with the actions of the phelps klan. We need to let people see this.
