Dear bloggers, It is important to separate the person from the behavior and let God judge the person. Having said that, we must now devote our attention to the greatest danger facing America since possibly the Civil War – the homosexual agenda. (Guy Adams, Renew America)
It is me or is this a really hateful scary thing to read? It wasn’t the cold war. It wasn’t the Nazi’s in Germany. It isn’t terrorism folks. It isn’t Avian Flu or Poverty. It isn’t the rise in gasoline. It isn’t Iran’s nukes or Osma Bin Laden. Its those nasty gay people and they must be stopped.
If this isn’t a call to arms against gays and lesbians, then I am not sure what it is. Mr. Adams words ring out loud and clear that he believes gays are a danger, better still this man thinks we are a bigger danger than terrorism.
What Mr. Adams is hoping for and I am sure will happen is the CALL TO ARMS. He wants those pesky gay people stopped. Unfortunately some will hear his call and want to stop the gays dead. Best yet, Mr. Adams feels he is following the wish of his creator. Wait haven’t we heard this before?
This mob mentality disgusts me. He should be ashamed of himself. Do you think he is?
I have sent Mr. Adams an email, I have refreshed his password. Lets hear what he has to say about this statement. Perhaps it will be an apology for such an immoral and unjust statement.

Guy Adams sounded somewhat reasonable last week, but with his latest post the truth comes out (it reminds me of the truth coing out of a drunk Mel Gibson). He won’t apologize because he can’t. So the biggest problem isn’t the deficit, the ‘war’ on terrorism, the poverty in this country, the loss of civil liberties by the current regime, but the “homosexual agenda.” Maybe Guy could fill us in on what that agenda is. I’ve asked other fundamentalists this question only to be ignored, most likely because they do not know what it is either.
His ‘call to arms’ reminds me of some christian history–the Crusades, the Inquisition and so on. This is the reason why we must keep fighting against views like his. Whenever a religion takes control of a government, persecutions and death soon follow.
And as I mentioned yesterday (I think one of my comments got deleted with some posts) Adams sounds desperate. It could be that he knows deep down that his views will soon be disgarded on the trash heap of fundamentalist history. The youth of this country know that gay people are not a danger and soon those people will be voting.

I agree with most of what you have said but the part about fighting these type of people. I can’t speak for others, but I don’t believe fighting with them will help. Fighting them raises their defenses and in some cases makes them fight us even more. I think it is time to just keep exposing their hate into the light of public opinion where today’s youth can see it and see how wrong it is. Then we will see those same kids become voters and do what is right.
There was a day and age where talking trash about blacks was just part of the day. Those days are gone. That is exactly what I hope will happen with these types of conversations. They will just become unaaceptable.
I know that people like Guy Adams are convinced we are trying to prevent him from saying this stuff. I am not, I want this stuff to become so unacceptable, people like Guy Adams wouldn’t dare face the shame of saying this stuff.

Come to think of it, what danger did the Civil War present. It was a war over slavery or freedom. Does Mr. Adams feel that slavery was good. What did he mean by that? I am curious. This man makes me curious.
He did email me and say is not going to comment. I have since deleted his profile here. He ask me if I was a fraud, but I have no idea what he meant by that.

Joe-
Did Stacy seriously ban you from her blog?
August 2nd, 2006 at 11:37 am
Yes, It appears I couldn’t behave myself, whatever that means. The reality about it while Fundementalist Christians jump up and down screaming how gays don’t want to the truth. The fact is, they don’t want it either.
Stacy refuses to see just how homophobic and mean spirited she has been towards gays and lesbians. When you point it out to her, and the affect on gays lives. She bans you.
Sadly, it is the call to arms she touts along with her fellow “anti-gay” Christians that will directly lead to violence against gays. Look at Mr. Adams who tells the public gays are the biggest danger since the civil war. Just how does Mr. Adams think people will respond to this danger? Fight or flight? Does he really think a call to fight the danger will result in a few calls to a Senator? I doubt it. People respond, but it isn’t by calling anyone. Thay instead bash us.

Ha! I just saw where she is refusing to post your phone call until the “right time.”

I agree entirely. I must say I admire your trying to talk sense to her on her blog. However, it seems pointless.
I just finished John Dean’s book Conservatives Without Conscience. A good portion of the book talks about people like Stacy. She thinks her actions are good and righteous, yet they are harmful to groups of people she doesn’t agree with.(And that she thinks she is trying to help.) Specifically, homosexuals, since she seems to be OBSESSED with them.
I am not gay, but have gay friends. I stand firmly with the gay community in fighting Fundamentalist Wacko Christians like Stacy.

Well I don’t think she is wacko, or any of them are wacko. I believe the hold their beliefs close to their heart. They just need to start hinking about how to present those beliefs without the call to arms.
There will always be people opposed to homosexuality based on religion. I don’t think that will change, but I do think the presentation of that can be change to be less harmful. Most of them don’t use religion as an objection. The use flawed science, and lies. Couldn’t they just as well use their religion? Is their religion not a strong anough objection that they must resort to lies?
it is like a politcal smear tactic. Rather than show how they would be a better candidate they trash the other guy. It doesn’t work in politics either.

Only thing Stacy can do on Blogger is moderate comments, so this is nothing more than another vain attempt to prove herself as being morally superior because she’s a christian.

what do you mean?

I think we might be better served by getting involved enrgywise and timewise (rather than spend time debating our issues with Guy and Stacy not that we shouldn’t, someone ought to help these people see the light) in our local commnunities where we live and by both our charitable actions and by our support of those who fight for our equality, be known as both the good people we really are and as people who are just as truly deserving of the same rights and same opportunities in life as are our straight neighbors.
We may never calm these people, and free speech in America is both fortunately or unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint) double-sided, we can’t really stop their right to speech any more than they have a right to stop ours.
We can and must learn in the US to agree to disagree without “verbally bashing” one another.
Our best course of action is to remain calm and go about securing our rights and our equality and by meanwhile being nice and courteous to straight and gay alike.
If we must talk to Guy and Stacy let it be done gently and respectfully but with us firmly insisting on our rightful and equal place in the society and the laws of our beloved USA.

[…] I would respect people who hold religious beliefs about homosexuality that differ from mine as long as that is what it is, but they never stop there. They start in with Paul Cameron science and twisted lies about the life of gays, I don’t want to hear it since I know it is lies. When I hear the lies and myths from Stephen, I feel compelled to correct your lies and expose the fact you are telling them. When your message is about declaring war on me and those like me, then you are hurting people, not helping them. You are making the call to arms. […]
